CENTRAL USA - SALES/ TERRITORY MANAGER

As a result of recent growth and success in new markets, Thor Global Enterprises Ltd., located in Mississauga, is seeking an individual with a solid background in sales and sales management.

Thor telescopic stackers are the most technologically advanced machines of their kind on the market. Since inventing the first telescopic stacker for the aggregate industry, Thor engineers have integrated state-of-the-art customized automation software, touch screen interfaces, ultrasonic sensing devices, remote operation capabilities and several innovative design features for increased performance, durability and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing dealer network.

  • Manage direct customers without dealership representation in the territory until dealer representation is established (if deemed necessary).

  • Establish dealer representation with reputable companies (if deemed necessary) in states that have greater sales potential and no current relationships in place for various industries and applications.

  • Develop and implement an annual strategy that accomplishes the sales goals set out and agreed upon by both the territory manager and Thor Global.

  • Visit dealers within the central USA territory at least twice annually, focusing on customer visits.

  • Ensure that dealers are up-to-date on all revisions and upgrades to existing products as well as the addition of new products implemented by Thor Global.

  • Design 60-day (provided every 30 days) high level travel plans that include visiting existing customers, prospecting customers, tradeshow events and dealers within the central USA territory.

  • Document and-follow up on all sales calls, sales visits, dealer visits, and service requests.

  • Analyzing competitor activities in the region and assessing opportunities for business development.

  • Provide customers and dealers in new markets with presentations regarding the benefits of telescopic technology as well as new THOR technologies and innovations.

  • Attend trade show events that target high potential new industries within the prescribed territory.

  • Start-ups- Thor feels that this is still an Integral part of long-term success. You are required to manage Start-ups once trained.

 

Requirements & Assets:

  • Previous Sales roles in heavy industrial equipment.

  • Excellent people skills and an ability to build relationships with people at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated

  • Experience in manufacturing and estimating.

  • Knowledge of Contract Law and the ability review Terms & Conditions (T&C’s) to ensure that both the customer and Thor Global’s interests are best met.

Intermediate to Senior Level Solidworks and OmniWin Technician

You are a Technician or Technologist with a solid background in mechanical and structural design of heavy-duty equipment primarily used in the aggregate and mining industry. Successful applicants must have a demonstrated knowledge of bulk material handling equipment including conveyors (portable, stationary & overland), stackers (telescopic, folding and cable mast), hoppers, belt feeders, crushers and screening plants.

 

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – near Hwy. #410 and Courtney Park Drive

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and implement design solutions based on customer requirements and/or specifications in a 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Solidworks) environment. 

  • Manage throughput of all OmniWin flat pattern programs to production.

  • Liaise with our in-house manufacturing team.

  • Detail mechanical components, weldments, and assemblies.

  • Effectively communicate designs through excellent drafting layouts.

  • Determine best engineering/design practices and communicate with peers  

Qualification and Experience:

  • MUST be proficient with SolidWorks (2019 and up) with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience. SolidWorks PDM experience is also desirable.

  • MUST be proficient with AutoCAD (2018 and up) with a minimum 5-8 years’ experience. 

  • MUST be proficient using OmniWin 2019 by MesserSoft.

  • Nice to have 8-15 years Canadian experience in field related materials handling/heavy duty equipment.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment that involves processes such as: plasma/laser cutting, plate forming, fitting & welding, machining, saw cutting, painting, assembly and equipment testing.

  • Highly motivated, organized, results oriented, problem solver, decision-maker, strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Proficient in all MS Office (primarily Excel & Word) applications

  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written

  • College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technology.

 

Additional Preferred Competencies:

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Strong Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience

  • Team player with the willingness to take on and complete all assigned tasks

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working in the assembly bay- Assembling, Testing, & commission THOR machines.

  • Perform a detailed functionality test of all mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components.

  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace any defective parts.

  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings/layouts to assemble & troubleshoot equipment.

  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

  • Prepares reports or analysis of product failure trends and service issues

  • Provide support by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system & safety improvements.

  • Make improvement recommendations that can reduce cost, increase uptime and enhance safety

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 Years of proven experience

  • Strong technical writing, communication and interpersonal skills are required

  • Strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment or autonomously is required

  • Experience with tensioning/tracking/training of troughed belt conveyors

  • Experience in electrical motors, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, HMI's is a benefit

 

Additional Required Competencies:

  • Occasional travel to client sites for service and commissioning may be requested at times – a current valid Passport may be required.

  • Must have experience working in extreme environmental conditions (dust, cold, heat, rain) when installing/repairing equipment at customer outdoor site location

  • Note that this role is a mixture of:

    • 90% hands on technician role working in our own manufacturing facility

    • 10% field service support on site at customer locations in Canada, USA, or International.
